I got my start teaching while working in San Salvador, where I helped mothers understand the role they play in their child's education. As I learned about the discrepancies between classes, I committed myself to doing everything I could to help. Since then I studied for and obtained a TESL certification, and created my own study plans for students as they began to learn English for the first time. Helping others is more than something I feel is important, it's what I want to do with my life. Besides my certification, I hold a degree in Global Cultural Studies from Santa Clara University. Languages are my specialty, and I am excited to help students with Reading, Writing, Essay Editing, College Essays, Grammar, World Religions, Spanish 1-4, and Conversational Spanish. I also assist with Social Studies, creating Study Skills and Organizational, and offering Homework Support. I can work with students who need help in ESL or ELL. When I'm not educating others, I love to read and spend time with my family and friends. Because of my past experiences, I love to travel. I also make time to do something active, such as going hiking outdoors and practicing yoga to relax.
