Private tutor in Golden, CO
Colorado School of Mines - Bachelors, Petroleum Engineering
My tutoring practice is very student-based and is centered around discovering exactly how each individual student learns material. I believe this is the most important first step because it offers a solid foundation for a true and deep grasp of material that we can then build upon. It is my goal to make sure each student understands exactly why something works the way that it does, and not just what to do with a particular problem set. I also like to relate the problems in their courses to practical and real situations. Algebra and Calculus are my favorite subjects to work with because of their real world and engineering applications. My education in Petroleum Engineering at the Colorado School of Mines has qualified me to teach a variety of Math subjects, such as Multivariable Calculus, Pre-Calculus, Geometry, Trigonometry, and Algebra. I have experience in helping peers in college with these subjects, which has given me a solid collection of tutoring skills and techniques. When not tutoring, I like to ski, hike, camp, fish, and enjoy the mountainous terrane. It is my goal to one day complete the Colorado Trail. I also love to travel, play video games, and see friends.
